The evaluation and verification of the acoustic quality of rooms, like general and open-plan offices, multipurpose halls, music rooms and class rooms, concert halls, gymnasiums and indoor swimming pools, surgeries, factory buildings, requires the knowledge of the spectral reverberation time and the sound decay curve of the room respectively.
The analysis software AFD 8001 - Acoustic Design of Mufflers is a very powerful tool for determining the spectral transmission loss and the spectral insertion loss of systems of mufflers. (Brochure)
For the determination of the airflow resistance of components, a specific specimen holder was developed with pneumatic elevation system and laser light grid for safety at work. The provided fluidic leak-proof assembly of the specimens allows the reliable measurement of the pressure loss in the range of 5 Pa to 3750 Pa at an airflow of 0,5 l/min to 100 l/min.
The finite element method (FEM) belongs to the best known numerical calculation methods and can be applied to the modeling of a wide range of complex physical processes. This includes the vibrational and resonance behaviour of structures (e.g. bars, plates), the propagation of sound and flows in solid, fluent and gaseous media (e.g. in mufflers), the distributions of temperature and mechanical stress in structures etc.
