Localization

The efficient use of methods for noise reduction requires the knowledge of the positions and the strengths of the main noise sources. A widely spread possibility for the determination of these influencing quantities is the application of a two-dimensional microphone array combined with subsequent signal processing.

Limits of AcoustiCam® Print
ImageDuring the development of the measuring system AcoustiCam® special attention was paid to the optimization of the properties of the microphone array and the applied signal processing. The motivation was given by the direct influence these properties exert on the quality of the localization result. As a consequence of the optimization the measuring system posesses a wide operating range.

Measurements with AcoustiCam® Print

ImageTo analyze your acoustic problems the Gesellschaft für Akustikforschung Dresden mbH applies the measuring system AcoustiCam® and measures in situ. The system both creates acoustic mappings of your test objects and identifies important sound sources with their properties. To visualize the sound field, an optical photograph of the test object can be laid underneath the localization result.

Principle of AcoustiCam® Print

ImageWhen tracking down sound sources during acoustic investigations of complex objects, conventional measurements with a single or few microphones often yield dissatisfying results. This problem can be solved with the help of the measuring system AcoustiCam®, developed by the Gesellschaft für Akustikforschung Dresden mbH.
